Completed in 2010, the new BioMolecular Engineering Center includes four separate labs—the Wet Teaching Lab, Dry Instrumentation Lab, Advanced Senior Design Lab and Cell Culture Lab. Each lab caters to a specific sets of activities, and challenge students as they advance in their knowledge and skills. The students also progress through increasingly controlled environments up through a BSL-2 environment in the Cell Culture Lab.

In 2011, a second phase was added to the project to include two new chemistry labs, prep rooms and a data-rich classroom. Each lab features nine fume hoods arranged around central group lab benches. Common public spaces with dynamic finishes and furnishings create a unique destination for students and staff.

Power, plumbing, gas and data requirements serve both the BioMolecular and Chemistry labs, while keeping all supply air separate and clean for the different environments.
