Opened in 2012, this renovation and addition brought new life to an established congregation on Lake Fowler in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. The church had a functional sanctuary but a crowded entrance, no gathering space and a lack of classrooms and offices to serve the various church ministries.
A new 4,000-square-foot welcome center and gathering area was added to the east of the sanctuary with expansive views of the lake and a large vaulted ceiling on axis with the sanctuary altar. Removal of a small balcony in the sanctuary allowed for new 12-foot tall windows and doors to be incorporated, connecting the sanctuary to the gathering area and the lake. Church offices, a small café and fellowship rooms also open on to the gathering area. Below is a new fellowship hall, also 4,000 square feet.
Adjacent to the gathering area is a new office center, fellowship rooms, classrooms and restrooms occupying 5,000 square feet on two levels. All new and old spaces are accessed via a new driveway to an at-grade entrance and drive under canopy.
