Transformation Tuesday: This month, we are featuring the Milwaukee VA Soldiers Home – Old Main. RAMLOW/STEIN collaborated with The Alexander Company to restore and repurpose Old Main from an abandoned Civil War veteran domicile to 80 apartments for homeless or at-risk veterans. The efforts involved restoring the slate roofing, repairing and reusing the original windows, refurbishing the wood and terrazzo flooring, and maintaining the Cream Brick exterior.
